The Spice Girls wowed the masses with their rather flawless performance at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics recently, but sadly, it appears as if we won’t be getting any new music from the girl power enthusiasts anytime soon. So why not settle for the next best thing? Melanie C and Emma Bunton teamed up for a cover of “I Know Him So Well” for Mel’s upcoming solo album Stages (out September 9 in the UK). Spice up your ears with the song below!

“I Know Him So Well” was originally penned by ABBA‘s Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson (along with Tim Rice) for 1984 musical Chess, and became a UK chart-topper for Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson in 1985. Later it was covered by dozens of other singers, including Whitney Houston and her mother Cissy for 1987’s Whitney.

Needless to say, we’re thrilled to hear Sporty and Baby on a song together for the first time since 2007 Spice Girls comeback single “Headlines”. Hopefully this gives the other three a kick in their spicy behinds to get back in the studio together.
