Pink Covers ‘Billboard’, Talks Exorcising Her Demons And Mean Fan Comments

Pink is popping up all over the place lately — as the new face of COVERGIRL, in her simultaneously angry and funny music videos, and now on the cover of Billboard, where she discusses the creation of her new album, The Truth About Love.

Though she has a few songs about relationships on her new LP, she explains that it doesn’t mean she’s having marriage woes again. “I wrote ‘Family Portrait’ when I was 21 and my parents divorced when I was 9, so I tend to hold onto things,” she says. “I’m still exorcising some of those demons. And look, I’m in a relationship that I’ve been in for 10 years and it’s never going to be perfect. Carey always jokes, ‘You’re always just mad enough at me to write a song.’ ‘Yep. Thanks, baby, you’re my muse.'”

Pink was recently named a spokesperson for COVERGIRL, which is quite an honor — even if some reactions aren’t as nice as others. “I always read the responses from the fans,” she says. “It was 99% positive, but I’ll always have that 1% that’s negative. And my favorite comment was, ‘Too bad they can’t Photoshop the bitch off your face.’ [laughs] That’s actually pretty good.”
