Britney Spears Has A Personality Disorder, TMZ Says

Britney Spears may not regain control of her personal affairs or finances for a long time to come, if ever. (Perhaps when the world ends…) That’s because an undisclosed “serious medical issue” — which TMZ reports to be a personality disorder — prevents the superstar and The X-Factor judge from making wise choices for herself, according to newly filed court papers. Lawyers representing the conservators of Spears’ affairs filed documents Tuesday (Aug. 23) to seal certain “highly sensitive” records whose disclosure might cause her “irreparable harm and immediate danger”, the news site reported.

TMZ says the documents detail Spears’ medical condition and treatment. As the site put it, she suffers from a “disorder affecting her personality that can affect her state of mind”. If the issue is as serious as the documents suggest, then there’s “no end in sight” for the conservatorship that has managed her major life decisions and business interests since 2008. (Her fiance Jason Trawick was added to the conservatorship in April, joining her father, Jamie Spears.) How much does Britney have at stake?

She certainly shouldn’t be hurting for cash anytime soon. In addition to the reported $15 million she’s being paid to judge one season of The X-Factor, she’s also about to release her 11th fragrance, “Fantasy Twist”.

It’s possible she may want a say in the management of her fortune. RadarOnline reported today that Spears’ recently told the judge overseeing her ongoing case that she is indeed ready to take control back herself.

How long should Spears’ affairs remain under the control of others? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter or in the comments.
