Whatcha Say: Rihanna’s Tears, Adam Lambert’s Cover & Xtina’s New Song Got Our Readers Talking

Over the past week, we saw a new video from Mariah Carey, heard new music from Owl City and Christina Aguilera, watched Rihanna admit she still loves her abusive ex Chris Brown, caught Adam Lambert paying homage to Bob Marley with a mighty fine cover and found out that Nicki Minaj is (maybe) heading to American Idol. Naturally, all this action got our readers typing. Head below to take in our weekly roundup of reactions to the pop happenings over the past seven days!

:: Danny had a different point of view about Beyonce Performs “I Was Here” For World Humanitarian Day: “She could sell that dress and save 1,000 families.”

:: Riley liked what he heard on Owl City Song “Metropolis” From The Midsummer Station: Idolator Premiere: “Adam, this is the best song on the new album. It’s so beautiful and the violins at the beginning are perfect. Keep doing what you’re doing, and I can’t wait for The Midsummer Station tomorrow.”

:: Kerry only saw a chain of foolishness on Nicki Minaj Reportedly Joining American Idol As Judge: “What happened to Aretha Franklin? A music legend tells them that she will gladly judge on the show and they’re just like ‘weeellll. I think we’re gonna go with the former porn star. But thanks anyway Aretha.’ Where’s the R.E.S.P.E.C.T.?”

:: not2think2 didn’t think too highly of American Idol Judge Drama: Mariah Carey Mad About Nicki Minaj, Kanye West In Talks: “Yep. If Minaj or Kanye is in this season…I’m simply not watching. Tired of media rewarding bad behavior and they will lose the adult demographic if Minaj or Kanye is employed.”

:: Joanna Tate talked that talk on Rihanna Tells Oprah She Still Loves Chris Brown In Next Chapter Interview: “Rihanna is so fake and pretentious and stupid. Chris Brown beat the crap out of her and she loves him?????”

:: Jed took a swing at Mariah Carey’s “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)” Video: Mimi Sticks To The Sidelines: “I still can’t get over how awesomely bad the song and the video is. The song is called ‘Triumphant’ and of all the possible scenarios she could choose she chose a boxing one. Because that has never been done before? Poor Mariah, she seems to have a flop as big as Glitter on her hands. I hope the second single and the album is better than this, so far not promising.”

:: Marc didn’t see much of a triumph, either: “The song is terrible, but at least she could have done something fab for the video. This was directed by her kid, Nick Cannon, and it shows!! Too much spray tan, too much fake hair and too many breast implants shots!! Get a real director next time, and find a producer that has made music in 00′s , cause this 1993 crap is just awful!!!”

:: Jenna Gold‘s heart went pitter-pat over Adam Lambert Covers Bob Marley’s “Is This Love” Live In Sydney: “He did a gorgeous job, I love when he takes a song we know, sings it live and just does his own thing with it. His voice is so smooth and sexy in this, it”s literally music to the ears in the best possible way. He’s so talented. It’s great to be able to hear the voice tone with nothing else to distract — uh, except his beauty ;)”

:: MusicSoul said bye to our Bionic diss on Christina Aguilera’s Demo Of New Single “Your Body” Surfaces: “Please stop referring to Bionic as if it was a disappointment album. Although it sunk in sales, Bionic has some great fun tracks (Bionic, Not Myself Tonight, Prima Donna, Elastic Love to name a few) with some killer ballads (I Am, You Lost Me, All I need, Sex for Breakfast, and Lift Me Up). I prefer to listen to Bionic than MDNA or that Rihanna album. People are just too biased to open up to some good music.”
