Pet Shop Boys Confirm Second ‘Elysium’ Single “Leaving”
Ahead of its September 11 release, Pet Shop Boys‘ 11th studio album Elysium is being compared to the duo’s understated ’90s masterpiece Behaviour. And now “Leaving”, the song some fans are calling this album’s “Being Boring”, has been officially confirmed as the LP’s second single. The Boys’ site notes an October 15 release for “Leaving” will bring the added bonus of remixes and extra tracks, much like with “Winner”.
The more we listen to “Leaving”, the more we’re convinced it’s the got the necessary recipe for a perfect fall single: melancholy lyrics about longing and loss, wistful synths that conjure up a classic PSB sound and gorgeous strings.
