Someone pissed Taylor Swift off (again), folks, and she’s gone and written a song about it (again). In the one-take video for the current #1 single in the country,“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, Tay and her fur-clad band have a big old party while she proceeds to rip her ex a new one. Many sites have ideas on who inspired Swift’s ire this time around. But are they right? Head below for our review roundup, and then let us know your own thoughts on who the singer is chastising this time around.

:: The New York Daily News lamented, “Thursday night, Taylor Swift debuted her new video for the gossipy song ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ live on MTV, with a simulcast in Times Square. But the three-minute clip offered not a single clue as to the identity of the latest cad to jerk her around, which the lyrics coyly allude to.”

:: E! Online took a guess anyway: “Directed by Declan Whitebloom and filmed in one go (girl knows how to make a quick outfit change!), the video chronicles the singer’s on-going breakup with a pretty cute bearded fellow (model Noah Mills), who kind of resembles Swift’s ex-beau Jake Gyllenhaal…if you squint and turn your head sideways.”

:: Zap2It.com also commented on Noah Mills, “who maybe looks a little bit like Jake Gyllenhaal??”

:: RyanSeacrest.com goes one further and lists out evidence on why the site thinks the song is definitely about Jake. Here’s one theory: “There are a wide assortment of human-sized animals in this video. In 2001, Jake Gyllenhaal starred in Donnie Darko which featured a life-sized rabbit. Coincidence? We think not!”

:: For the record, we here at Idolator didn’t quite get a Jake vibe: “Meanwhile, is it just us or is the dude she’s assuredly never ever getting back together with a bit of an Adam Levine lookalike? Hmmm. A further clue as to who this song is about, perhaps? (Did they date, pop fanatics? We can’t keep up with Tay’s exes at this point.)”

:: Likewise, Spin was seeing shades of Maroon 5: “Swift surely knows the Adam Levine lookalike who plays her clingy ex will lead to some more sales-greasing publicity ahead of the October 22 release of her upcoming album Red — OMG was she secretly dating the Maroon 5 frontman? — though it’s hard to believe the actual The Voice judge who sings ‘Payphone’ would listen to ‘some indie record that’s much cooler than mine’.”

:: Neon Limelight calls Taylor’s latest “the year’s most sickeningly adorable music video,” and refers to her as “annoying cute…in the clip.” We, er, think that’s a compliment…?
