Due to rampant rumors about the show’s lineup changes, American Idol fans have been operating under the assumption that Randy Jackson‘s days as a judge were behind him and that he’d transition into a vague “mentoring role.” That move is now official, dog, according to TMZ. In addition to removing the show’s only remaining original judge, Idol will return to a four-judge format. Mariah Carey has the first spot, while Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban are reportedly very close to finalizing their deals. As for the fourth seat? Nick Jonas still seems to be in consideration, and Enrique Iglesias is being pursued according to Billboard.  The show’s reps have yet to confirm the developments.
