You may recall that an American pop-punk band called One Direction were none too pleased that the pop act of the same name from across the pond had arrived on US shores — and, thus, they sued Simon Cowell‘s Syco Entertainment and Sony Music for $1 million, claiming the British-Irish band couldn’t operate in US jurisdiction without causing consumer confusion and destroying the goodwill of the domestic act. But, you can rest easy, 1D fans — the suit has been settled, and the MTV Video Music Awardsnominated “What Makes You Beautiful” crooners will indeed be keeping their name.

According to the BBC, the US version of One Direction will now be known as Uncharted Shores. In fact, a quick check of iTunes shows that the American band’s material has already switched over to the new monicker. And as for the Up All Night version of One Direction, they’ll now be the one and only.

The BBC notes that both groups were happy with the outcome, per a press release. The particular details of the settlement, with regards to money exchanged, were not made known.
