Robbie Daw | September 7, 2012 5:30 pm

The past seven days saw Justin Bieber get a new tattoo, Carly Rae Jepsen reveal her Kiss tracklist, Madonna and Elton John reportedly bury the hatchet, Nicki Minaj come out as a Republican and, of course, the staging of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Our readers offered up commentary on all these shenanigans, a bulk of which we’ve rounded up below. Have at it, pop fanatics!

:: sss only saw one skyscraper on 2012 MTV Video Music Awards: The Performances: “If feel bad for all the stars that sang at the main show . They were probably humiliated. Demi slayed them before the show even started”

:: John Bopoteyooty recalled the good old days on 2012 MTV Video Music Awards: A Viewer’s Guide: “MTV has sucked for nearly 20 years now. I think the last original programming i watched was Liquid Television.”

:: MusicSoul worried for JB’s future on Justin Bieber Gets A Royal New Tattoo: “Justin Bieber is just another product of Hollywood who will most likely have an identity crisis as he gets older. Look at his sagging pants, his new hairstyle, his ‘mature’ new videos, his personification of Michael Jackson, and his tattoos. Also, magazines are stamping him as grown and sexy because he is ’18’ now. It’s sad that he will not have a “choice” to be himself with the demands and expectations from media and fans of who they want him to be. A product of Hollywood…a product of future identity crises.”

:: Kisa‘s face turned red, white and blue over Nicki Minaj Is “A Republican Voting For Mitt Romney” In Lil Wayne’s “Mercy” Remix: “She is garbage anyway!!! It’s not a surprise that someone like her would make such a statement. But to let you know Nicki Minaj, you are unclassy, nasty, a disgrace to women, tasteless, and just like the rest of the world who believes in the Republican bullcrap!!! Of course, you would vote for someone like Romney, you probably don’t pay your taxes anyway, and to let you know everybody in America is not ‘lazy’. Some people are just unfortunate, and if it wasn’t for these so call ‘lazy b!tcH you wouldn’t be where you are today!!! Remember that on election day!!!'”

:: Fan4me though things were a bit juvenile on Carly Rae Jepsen’s Kiss Tracklist, Definitely: “lol you said the album is about her teenage life but she’s nearly 30!”

:: Jed Camara Ocot blew a kiss Carly’s way, though : “In a weird way, it’s refreshing to see a 26-year-old singing about rather innocent subjects and not about going to the club or dancing the night a way. Her Curiosity EP was pretty good. If artists can sing about life experiences from when they were younger, why should Carly be any different?”

:: Thomas though sorry seemed to be the hardest word (to believe) on Madonna And Elton John Bury The Hatchet In France: “Reported by The Sun…so obviously it’s false. This big ole world and these two HUGE icons just happened to run into each other in the same restaurant on the same night at the same time?!?”
