Miguel has taken a page from Robyn‘s pre-album promotional strategy. Last month, the trippy R&B crooner dropped a three-song EP, Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview, to rave reviews. And now his second three-piece pre-release, Kaleidoscope Dream: The Air Preview, hits iTunes tomorrow. Both EPs will add up to his full-length sophomore record, due out October 2 via RCA, and provide a promising look at what to expect on the Kaleidoscope Dream LP.

“Do you like drugs?” Miguel asks over the the airy guitars of “Do You…”, while the stripped-down title track puts his fluttery falsetto to good use. But it’s the ’80s-channeling synths of “The Thrill” that lend the track an anthemic quality that aligns best with the singer’s dusky vocals. Take a listen to the EP over at The FADER.
