Kanye West Dominates BET Hip-Hop Awards Nominations
Kanye West is probably busy reading tweets from people who have already listened to the Cruel Summer leak, so he may not have noticed that he was nominated in some form or another in 14 categories for the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2012. West got nods for CD Of The Year (Watch The Throne), Producer Of The Year, Video Director Of The Year, MVP Of The Year and many, many others. What, he couldn’t jump behind the wheels of steel to pick up a Best DJ nod? He couldn’t ditch Kim for a few days to release a mixtape and get thrown into that category? Pick up the slack, Yeezy! Other leading nominees include 2 Chainz with nine, Jay-Z with eight, Drake with seven and A$AP Rocky with six. While Rick Ross earned four nominations, he and Nicki Minaj were under-represented considering their monster years (Nicki is only up for Best Hip-Hop Style). The awards take place on October 9.
