No Doubt “Looking Hot” On Latest Single: Listen

The next single off No Doubt‘s forthcoming Push And Shove (out September 25) is “Looking Hot.”  The album’s second song was preceded by singles “Settle Down” and the Diplo-produced title track, and it’s a propulsive piece of Euro-dance that’s equal parts crunchy and glossy.

There’s also a ska breakdown as we see once again that No Doubt valiantly refuses to shed their early hallmarks even as their sights are on dance halls. The most ridiculous thing about the song isn’t the sudden appearance of brass, though — it’s the fact that Gwen Stefani asks “Do you think I’m lookin’ hot?” which is obviously a rhetorical question. Hear the song after the jump.

Great choice for a single. Even though it’s dancier and more beat heavy than their usual work, it still sounds like No Doubt and judging from the previews I’ve listened to, it’s probably the catchiest/most radio friendly song on the album. If radio promotes it, I can see it being a top 10, at the very least top 20 hit. Also, it’s actually the second official single. The title track was just a promotional single, at least for now.
