Garbage Take “Control” & “Blood For Poppies” To ‘Kimmel’: Watch

Garbage‘s Not Your Kind Of People was one of our favorite albums of the first half of 2012, but for the most part the release seemed to have hit without much fanfare and quickly vanished from the pop consciousness. So we were happy to see the band bring a couple of their new songs to Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night (October 3).

A black-clad Shirley Manson started off with “Control,” the fourth single from the new album. It’s a ferocious, fuzzed-out rocker with a driving bass line and a harmonica-on-steroids train whistle effect that demands your listening attention. Watch “Control” up top, and check out the poppier (fittingly) “Blood For Poppies” after the jump.

How’d the new songs translate to TV? Tell us in the comments below, or on Facebook and Twitter.
