Assange is currently staying at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where Gaga was already in town promoting her new fragrance, Fame. M.I.A., who is herself no stranger to political issues, tweeted at Gaga, noting that she should come by and have tea with herself and Assange if she had a free moment. And indeed, Gaga graciously accepted the invitation, spending five hours at the embassy with the Australian activist, famed for his controversial whistle-blowing website.
M.I.A.’s tweet suggests that she was also present, although it’s not clear from the pictures; as seen above, Gaga only posted a picture on LittleMonsters.com of herself with Assange (she wearing a witches’ hat, and he wearing a stained white t-shirt, because why not?), although she was also photographed leaving the embassy.

Whether tea and cake were actually served remains a mystery, but one thing is certain: We’d have given anything to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.
