2012 BET Hip Hop Awards: The Winners

When the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards were taped on September 29, the focus was on the backstage brawls between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, and between Gunplay and 50 Cent‘s G-Unit. But the awards aired Tuesday night (October 9) and we can finally talk about the winners. Namely, Kanye West, who led the field with seven awards (including CD of the Year for Watch The Throne), even though he didn’t attend the show. (With 14 nominations, we were actually expecting Kanye to snatch up even more hardware.)

2 Chainz was next in line with four awards, including Rookie of the Year. Even DJ Khaled won something, even though we’re still not sure what he does beyond yell his own name on other people’s tracks. Check out the full list of winners below.
