Miguel Smokes Out ‘Letterman’: Watch Him Perform “Adorn”

Fresh off the news that he’d be touring with Trey Songz later this year, Miguel stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman to perform his endlessly smooth, endlessly remixed hit “Adorn” from his critically acclaimed LP Kaleidoscope Dream. It’s tough to stand out in the daily blitz of TV performances, but Miguel managed to do just that.

Miguel started off in black-and-white, back-lit and blanketed in fog, making him barely visible to the viewers at home — a counterintuitive choice for an emerging act trying to be recognized. But it all pays off, and when the smokey cloud dissipates, his neo-Marivn Gaye jam picks up steam and the cameras blast back to color. Miguel was backed by a full band, and the guitar player was engaged in some legitimate shredding by the end.
