Gucci Mane Disses Young Jeezy In “Truth (Not a Jeezy Diss)”: Listen

After years of exchanging disses, Gucci Mane feels hard-pressed to settle the score with fellow Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy. Despite having just wrapped his new mixtape (Trap God, out October 17), Gucci still felt inspired enough to record “Truth (Not a Jeezy Diss)” — in sum, a rehashing of details fit for Degrassi: The Next Generation, including fights over a girl and sightings at a birthday party. Check out “Truth” after the jump:

According to Young Jeezy however, “Truth” may not be revealing enough. After offering his vague recollections of meeting Rick Ross at the BET Hip Hop Awards, Young Jeezy revealed that Gucci Mane apparently called a few times about recording songs together — an offer that the Snowman refused. “I mean, I feel like everybody know that boy retarded, nobody take him seriously,” Young Jeezy told Power 106. “He got an ice cream cone on his face.”

On Twitter, Gucci even invited Young Jeezy to his Trap God release party, then cast out a $100,000 bet: “I can and will beat Jeezy ass #JUSTTRUTHS.” The goofiness of Gucci’s Twitter invitation, “Truth” and Jeezy’s statements makes it hard to believe that seven years ago, the Gucci-Jeezy beef may have had fatal consequences. The last time bets were placed — a $10,000 bounty for a Gucci Mane pendant, as cast out in “Stay Strapped” — Gucci shot and killed one of the five assailants who allegedly took to Young Jeezy’s challenge. Gucci maintained that he was acting in self-defense and the murder charges were dropped.
