Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man”: Listen To The Piano Ballad Here

Bruno Mars‘ next LP, Unorthodox Jukebox, drops December 11, and in anticipation of the upcoming release, the crooner has been unveiling a series of promotional singles  — and the latest is the piano-driven track “When I Was Your Man,” an emotional ballad that shows off Mars’ sweet vocals.

Evoking Elton John, the track sounds like it was recorded live in a piano bar, with audible background noise, like the spooling of film on a projector. “Our song on the radio but it don’t sound the same,” Mars laments over a memorable piano riff, leading into a soaring chorus: “I should have bought you flowers and held your hand,” he sings. It’s another exceptional offering from Jukebox, which is shaping up to be one of the year’s best pop releases.

Listen to the track below.
