Adam Lambert Geeks Out Performing A Haunting “Mad World” With Cyndi Lauper: Watch

Dec 9th, 2012 // 8 Comments

Adam Lambert is one of the most sensational artists out there, yet when sharing the stage with one if his idols, he went all fanboy on her. “Look who I get to do a duet with! OMG!” Adam shared with the crowd at New York City’s Beacon Theater on Saturday (December 8) night, before Cyndi Lauper walked on stage and they belted out “Mad World.” “I can’t believe she asked me to do this! This is amazing!”

All the star power on stage melted away, however, once the eerie song (originally recorded by Tears For Fears and perhaps best known from Donnie Darko) began. Cyndi and Adam harmonized in a haunting way that quite literally gave us chills. Their performance was just one of many during Lauper’s all-star Home For The Holidays benefit in Manhattan for homeless LGBT youth.

Glad you recognize the talent this man has. It is a shame his new album hasn’t gotten more radio play. It is sensational and has stunnng vocals. Check it out–called Trespassing.

Fabulous duet. I always adore Lambert’s vocals and the mix with Cyndi’s is haunting. I’m not surprised he went fanboy as he’s always in awe of talent. That’s such a great quality in a star!

  3. Adam Lambert has a very generous spirit. He is always complimentary to other talented artists. He continuously tweets congrats to other artists about performances or new singles/albums he enjoys and he recommends his fans to check them out.

  4. Adam is the most down-to-earth artist you’ll get to meet. He makes it no secret that he geeks out whenever he meets his idols. I find it so refreshing especially in a biz where everyone puts on a public face everytime but with Adam, he doesn’t play by the rules & lets his exuberance show, which is so heartening to see. I sure hope the biz doesn’t erode his exuberance in the long run.

    Simply beautiful !

I agree Adam is very generous to other performers. He even has supported and promoted Kris Allen (when he didn’t need to) many times of late.

When I read he was singing “Mad World”, I thought, “oh no”, but after hearing Adam and Cyndi, I quickly changed my mind. I was getting sick of that song, but this version is stunning.

Mr. Adam Lambert is a sensational artist and an exceptional human being. I would listen to him any time with great pleasure. It is disappointing the see radio station promoting low quality music and musicians and not Adam Lambert .
