Maroon 5’s “Daylight” Video: Watch The 10-Minute, Fan-Generated Clip

Maroon 5 have just dropped the video for their latest Overexposed single “Daylight,” and it’s a doozy — not because it’s high-concept with big production values (it’s not!) or because Adam Levine takes his shirt off (he doesn’t!) — but because it’s a nearly 10-minute-long supercut of fan-submitted footage, including dialogue. Lots of dialogue. And crying. And puppies. And dancing. And crying. Did we mention that there’s lots of dialogue? And that it’s almost 10 minutes long?

As the introductory text explains, the band asked fans to submit videos talking about their struggles, loves, dreams and regrets, which were then compiled into this video. Fan-generated videos are always hit-and-miss, and while it’s tough to knock a stirring testament to the human condition (or whatever) — this particular video, with its everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach to inspirational messaging, is just a lot to take in. Brace yourself and watch up top.
