Lady Gaga’s “You And I (Full Jazz Version)”: Listen To The Whiskey-Fueled Take
Lady Gaga has given her fans an early Christmas present, releasing the jazz version of her 2011 hit “You and I.” Perhaps it’s a taste of what we can expect from her forthcoming jazz album with Tony Bennett, although the singer claims this particular song was recorded “after too many whiskies” with jazz musician Brian Newman.
We’ve heard Gaga perform the malleable pseudo-rocker in stripped-down form before, so it ably translates into a lounge-y jaunt with horns and gravelly vocals. Hear it after the jump, and check out the tweets from Gaga and Newman regarding the drunken recording of the song.
@ladygaga Do you remember the blindfolded take we did of that, babe?!! Hahaha!!! Lets do it again soon! Always a pleasure!! Love ya!
