Bruno Mars kicked off The Ellen DeGeneres Show today (December 18) with a touching performance of his Doo-Wops & Hooligans song “Count On Me,” as a de facto tribute to the victims of Friday’s shooting in Newtown, CT. Noting that “we need a lot of love out there right now,” Ellen tossed it to her friend Bruno, who performed the uplifting track with just a ukelele and a backing singer. Watch the lovely gesture up top.
