Charli XCX emerged this year as the breakout star from the Tumblrwave pop crop, and she’s continued to impress with each release. Her newest single, “You (Ha Ha Ha),” shows no sign of deviating from that winning streak. Layers of filtered vocals and a glistening electro track work in tandem to create a sound that isn’t quite as dissonant as “You’re the One,” but still hits the right mark of optimistic regret.

“Cause we used to be the cool kids / You were old school, I was on the new –” Charli sings over a beat borrowed from Gold Panda‘s instrumental track “You.” Pretty sure you still are, Charli. Listen to the radio rip below.
