Nicki Minaj made an appearance at Webster Hall in New York City on Tuesday night (December 25) for Hot 97’s Christmas Extravaganza. First, the good news: it seems the radio station and the rapper have buried the hatchet after their feud earlier this year, regarding comments DJ Peter Rosenberg made about “Starships” and Minaj pulling out of the annual Summer Jam. Now, the bad news: the Barbz reportedly failed to meet the crowd’s expectations (more on that below) with her hosting duties of the evening, leaving attendees feeling like they got a lump of coal in their stockings rather than a Christmas treat.

Dressed in a black and red spandex catsuit with matching sunglasses, the American Idol judge didn’t arrive until 2:30 a.m., and she mainly stayed in her VIP balcony, according to Hip Hop Wired.

The site reports:

“Unfortunately that made the crowd even more agitated as boos were heard. The key word here, that some in attendance chose to ignore, is that Nicki was hosting.

“[She] requested a microphone and asked the crowd if they thought she was going to perform…Nicki made her way down from VIP to a huge ovation and greeted some of the fans lucky enough to make it to the front. She closed things out with what was supposed to be a twerk contest that really didn’t amount to what everyone hoped for.”
