In a transparent move to engender network synergy that — let’s be honest — many people are hoping will blow up in NBC’s faces, The Voice coach Adam Levine has been recruited to host Saturday Night Live on January 26. Levine is no stranger to SNL, having already appeared in a pair of very funny digital shorts. But his only live experience on the show has come during Maroon 5‘s performances, which happen so frequently that, at this point, the band basically has an open-ended residency going at Studio 8H.

Whatever does or doesn’t work during Levine’s sketches, viewers can rest assured that the musical segment will deliver: the dependable Kendrick Lamar will be making his SNL debut.
