Though Snoop Dogg has now been reincarnated into Snoop Lion, there’s one thing he still shares with his former self: an undying love for marijuana. For the latest issue of GQ, the rapper invites us, and writer Drew Magary, on a tour of his home away from home: Alternative Herbal Health Services marijuana dispensary in Los Angeles. The Hot Pockets promoter also discusses, at length, his deep affection for pot. Below, read a few of the “mind expanding” gems from the Cali native’s interview as Snoop reveals details of his upcoming album, how age has changed his perspective on music and on the way he’d like to introduce his kids to weed.

It’s worth noting that GQ was kind enough to rent an SUV specifically for the photo shoot (above) so Snoop would have a place to partake in his favorite recreation without forgoing the location owner’s no-smoking policy. As expected, the rapper did what he pleased anyway and the SUV sat in the mansion driveway unused.

Just say yes. Snoop on whether he would introduce his kids to marijuana: “It’s not that I would ever push weed on our kids, but if they wanted to, I would love to show them how, the right way, so that way they won’t get nothing put in their shit or overdose or trying some shit that ain’t clean.”

On limiting his collaborations: “I really didn’t want to have too many featured people on my next couple of projects. Because if I’m doing an interview with you and you say, ‘Hey, Snoop, you’re working on your next album. Well, who’s on it?’ That’s always the first question. Who the fuck you think is on it? Me, motherfucker!”

On maturity (and kids) changing his approach to music:  “As you become a man, you start having kids and living. You put the guns away, and your music becomes ‘Hey, I’m with my kid and I’m living now’… as opposed to ‘Fuck that—I’ll shoot you on sight.'”
