A few months after announcing LMFAO‘s indefinite hiatus, group member SkyBlu (real name Skyler Austen Gordy) has released his first solo track, titled “Pop Bottles.” The electro-pop dance song is not a far departure from LMFAO — in fact, it’s really not a departure at all, as the lyrical content is all about drinking and hitting the club (or “making it rain,” to be exact). The song also features up-and-coming singer Mark Rosas, a recent addition to Sky’s new collective of artists and producers at Big Bad University.

“Basically I grew up people always telling me what I can and can’t do,” Sky recently told MTV about his ventures. “And I always kind of classified myself as a dreamer… I created a university for dreamers. We have a lot of musical artists in there and DJs and everybody in there is about to release a big song. I kind of want to show the world what’s up with Sky.” Well, now we know. Listen to his new track and hit the jump for some of the lyrics.

The chorus goes something like: “Pop bottles, make it rain/ Every night it’s all the same/ Hit the club, hit the after-party, then we hit the plane.”

Sky’s bandmate (and uncle) Redfoo is also in the studio working on a solo album similar to what they’ve done in the past as a duo. “All the music that I’m going to make is always going to be LMFAO-ish,” he said. “I love all the topics that we talk about. I was really passionate about bringing party music to the world, so I will always be making some kind of party music.”

Let the party commence.
