HBO’s Girls returns on Sunday, January 13, and while the show is divisive, the first volume of the soundtrack should please music fans of all stripes. The diverse, star-studded compilation drops tomorrow (January 8) and we’ve already heard Santigold‘s trappy title track. Today the label behind the soundtrack has unveiled fun.‘s contribution, called “Sight of the Sun,” which was originally slated to appear on Some Nights, but didn’t make the cut because of an uncleared sample. After Nate Ruess gave it a quick rewrite, the layered piece of organic, piano-driven pop ended up on the soundtrack for Lena Dunham‘s show. Hear it over at Rolling Stone.
