What first stands out is the fevered snare attack, along with squealing post-punk guitars spiraling over vocals hidden deep in the mix. It’s high drama that sounds more like Explosions in the Sky than Paramore — until Hayley Williams‘ “Now-ow-ow” chant comes in. “Now” is out January 22 on iTunes but we want to hear it RIGHT NOW.
Paramore have promised that their forthcoming self-titled album (out April 9) finds them exploring new sonic territory and serves as their “rediscovery” of the band itself. Based on the one-minute preview of lead single “Now,” the band’s sound has certainly matured from the crunchy emo of yore.
