Kitty Pryde’s “Ay Shawty”: Hear The ‘D.A.I.S.Y. Rage’ Version Featuring Lakutis
Kitty Pryde‘s “Ay Shawty” was a murky piece of self-deprecation and flirtiness on last year’s great Haha, I’m Sorry EP. For her forthcoming D.A.I.S.Y. Rage EP (out January 31), Kitty has reworked the song. The vocals are higher in the mix this time around, the beat is cleaner and less amorphous and Kitty delivers her self-effacing lines with more confidence. Oh, and apparently she has lopped the “Pryde” off her name.
She also dropped collaborator Dankte and swapped in a different male MC: Lakutis, wild-child pal of the now-defunct Das Racist. So, at this point, we’re as excited for Kitty’s debut LP as we are for Azealia Banks‘ and Angel Haze‘s. Does that make us blasphemers? Ponder the question while you listen to “Ay Shawty” below.
