Occasionally in the pop music galaxy, stars will collide and the result is dumbfounding. Such was the case when Courtney Love decided to tip her hat to Jay-Z last week in Park City, Utah by covering “99 Problems.” Not since the rapper’s 2010 Fresh Air interview with Terry Gross has there been the potential for such a hilarious juxtaposition.

The former Hole frontwoman acknowledges this as she introduces the track saying, “…wait it’s so genius it either sucks or it’s genius. I don’t know” before giving the crowd an acoustic, yet gritty rendition of Hova’s song. (Unlike Terry, however, Courtney uses the unedited lyrics.) Watch up top and help the 48-year-old rocker decide. Personally, we think it would be pretty genius if Jay returned the favor by sampling Hole’s “Violet” or “Celebrity Skin.”
