Emmy Rossum‘s new album Sentimental Journey, which drops today (January 29), sees the soulful chanteuse putting her signature spin on 20th century classics, and as part of promoting the release, Rossum shot a series of lovely noirish clips which show her performing songs in elegant vintage style — not music videos, but “vignettes.” (It just sounds more glamorous, doesn’t it? Now, Idolator is pleased to premiere behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot of Rossum’s Sentimental Journey vignettes. All dolled up in couture gowns and chic style, Rossum looks every bit like she’s on a sentimental journey through history — except when she’s making faces at her director.
“I had so much fun creating this world for the music video vignettes and collaborating with director Brian Bowen Smith,” Rossum told us. “From coming up with the stories, hand selecting the wardrobe, finding locations and designing the lighting and mood, this is really a passion project for me.” That passion shows through loud and clear.
