Grammys: Ed Sheeran Is So Nervous About His Elton John Duet He’s Having Bad Dreams

Ed Sheeran‘s duet with Elton John is one of a handful of big-time collaborations we can expect to see on the Grammy stage on Sunday (February 10). The Song of the Year nominee‘s initial tweet about the performance made it seem as though Sheeran was handling it with a dry British restraint (“very excited about that!”). But Ed has let on that he’s actually quite nervous about teaming up with the knighted British legend (completely understandable) and has had some nightmares because of it.

“I went to sleep worrying about the Grammys,” he told Baltimore radio station MIX 106.5. “Like what happens if I win and what happens if I don’t? And what happens if my voice cracks when I’m singing? I fell asleep just thinking about it and had this really odd dream.” He proceeded to describe the dream: “We decided not to play the song we were going to play and we were going to play this other traditional song. I forgot to give him the piano reference and he just didn’t play. Everyone was really confused and I got told off. I hope it isn’t a pre-warning to what is actually going to happen!”

Pretty sure if Ed actually screwed up, Elton’s wrath would be much scarier than some “naked in front of the whole class” bad dream. Just ask Madonna.
