The Lumineers’ “Stubborn Love” Video: Watch The Sad-But-Happy Road Trip
A few weeks after performing “Ho Hey” and not-“Ho Hey” on Saturday Night Live, The Lumineers have premiered their video for that second song, “Stubborn Love.” Directed by Isaac Ravishankara, who has previously helmed videos for Ellie Goulding and Phantogram, the simple clip follows a little girl who’s moving away with her mother after an apparent split.
The Loomies (the ‘Neers?) themselves are conspicuously absent for most of the video. Instead, as we watch the daughter wistfully staring out the car window, the band eventually makes a brief appearance, performing on a sidewalk as our protagonists drive by. Cathartic ooh-ooh-oohs, fogged-up car window doodles and loving glances between the mother and daughter ensue. Watch it up top.
