Justin Bieber-Ed Sheeran Collaboration Not Happening, Because Ed’s Just Not That Into It

Ed Sheeran is a crusher of dreams. He left no room for misinterpretation when he shot down the months-long rumor that he and Justin Bieber were cooking up a collaboration. “I don’t think a collaboration would work with Justin,” he told The Sun flat-out.

But, he left plenty of room for theorizing. “I think collaborations should be done with people that can actually click. Two male singers makes it very difficult for it to work.” Is it just us or does Ed sound a tad cold about this? By saying it’s difficult to get two male vocalists to work out, is he implying that Bieber is too much of an alpha dog to get on a track with him? Or that Bieber doesn’t have the chops to make it work? After all, Ed has no problem teaming up with male singer Elton John. Or, it could just be that it’s hard to pick up on Ed’s tone and meaning when it’s just print quotes, and he and Bieber actually get along famously. We may never know!

Sheeran said the rumors of a collabo with JB popped up after it was revealed he was working with Tori Kelly, who is managed by Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun. Braun himself fanned the flames back in December, when he tweeted that he was in the studio with Sheeran and Kelly working on “acoustic music” — the same night that Bieber tweeted “studio. #acoustic.” Naturally, everyone thought the link-up was finally happening.

So, Beliebers, what is it about your boy that Eddie doesn’t like? Let us know below, or by hitting us up on Facebook and Twitter.
