Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert Sing “Ebony And Ivory” But ‘Ebony’ Is Not Present

Stephen Colbert was the special guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night (February 22nd). The playful interview started off with a little pre-Oscars beef, where Fallon and Colbert exchanged Papyrus greeting cards with each other and opened at the count of 23. To their surprise, the contents of both cards were invites…to each others’ Oscar-viewing parties. Whoops.

The result? They take it to the piano and concoct their own cutely twisted version of the Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney classic “Ebony and Ivory.” Since there is clearly no one in that duo representing Ebony, the two rework it as “Ivory and Ivory.” Even the piano is white. “I can tolerate you, and you don’t mind me,” the two sing in the somewhat peaceful duet. The kicker though is this line: “If Rihanna and Chris Brown can be friendly, why can’t we?” Amazing.
