Watch Kanye West Howl Like A Banshee & Throw His Microphone In London

Kanye West threw another quasi-tantrum at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, though this time it was a tad less cerebral. At the end of “Touch the Sky” during his concert on Sunday night (February 24), while wearing that straitjacket, Kanye began howling into the microphone, and soon the howls turned into shrieks. It was actually pretty compelling — rarely do rappers deliver an unhinged vocal outburst like that.

To top the whole strange spectacle off, Yeezy finished by dropping the mic throwing the mic at the ground, hard enough that it skipped along and landed in the front row of the crowd. Watch it up top.

Apparently this may have been spurred because West was frustrated by some shoddy sound mixing. Regardless, we hate to belabor the “rappers are the new rock stars” point — because rappers should be the standard measurement at this stage in the game — but this was a very rock move.

Now add in the fact that the night before at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, Yeezy went on a five-minute rap-rant covering everything from his dislike of “Suit & Tie” (“I got love for Hov, but I ain’t fuckin’ with that”) to his distaste for the Grammys (“the Grammys can suck my dick”) and big business. Perhaps the stresses of impending fatherhood are getting to him. Or he just really hates fish and chips.
