Mumford & Sons Keep Babel-ing Away Atop Album Chart
You know things have hit a lurch on the Billboard 200 when the publication’s resident chart stud Keith Caulfield refers to the week’s roundup as “dreary” and “ho-hum” in his latest column. Indeed, Mumford & Sons retain their post-Grammys mojo and remain on top with Babel for a fifth non-consecutive week. That said, the LP only sold 63,000 copies this time around, the lowest tally for a #1 album since August of last year. Further to that, no new albums enter the Top 10.
Two upcoming records that could very well jump-start things: David Bowie‘s The Next Day (out March 12) and Justin Timberlake‘s The 20/20 Experience (March 19). Alas, until then, we’re possibly looking at one more sleepy week in chart land.
