Selena Gomez Talks New Single: It’s A “Huge Fun Dance Record”

The artist formerly known as Selegendary Gomesmerizing (that’s Selena Gomez) is ready to go hard with her fourth studio album — and she’s offered up some new details (well, not details exactly, but at least a general atmospheric sense of what to expect) in a new interview with Teen Vogue.

“I made a huge fun dance record that I’m so proud of,” she said. “I got to record 20 or so great songs and work with a bunch of different producers and they’re all really fun, pop songs and a little Ellie Goulding-ish, a little island-y feel.” All of that sounds pretty excellent, doesn’t it?

Expect the first single (for which she was just spotted shooting a video) to drop in April, and it’s — well, sounds about the same as the album, really: “It’s a really fun pop record,” she continued. “I’m super stoked for it. It’s kind of been hush-hush about it and I’m excited for the single to come out and for my fans to hear it.”

Not much to work with here, but we’ll take it. Queen Selena will reign once more.
