Frank Ocean has been sued by a producer-songwriter who says he is not fully credited for his contributions to the Grammy-winning channel ORANGE. According to the lawsuit filed March 6, Micah Otano wrote a song called “Daylight” with producer Malay – only for Malay to copy “Daylight,” rename the song “Lost” and then take all production credit. channel ORANGE credits Otano as a songwriter, but not as a producer.
According to his Twitter profile, Otano has also written for Anastacia (“Burning Star”) and Fantasia (“Overload”). AllHipHop.com has a copy of the lawsuit, which does not disclose how much Otano is seeking in back royalties and damages. Ocean has yet to comment.
