Justin Timberlake’s SXSW Gig For MySpace Secret Shows Confirmed

Hey, all you people currently traipsing around in Austin for SXSW — it turns out the rumor is true: Justin Timberlake will indeed be performing this weekend. Following his stint on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon this week, JT will headline tomorrow’s MySpace Secret Shows finale on a roster that also includes Late Night house band leader Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson of The Roots and electronic artist/Mad Men theme song creator RJD2.

The kicker: the show is free of charge, though a press release notes that it’s only open “on a first-come, first-served basis, but only those who’ve connected to Myspace Secret Show artists can attend.” In other words, it’s time to finally create a MySpace account (again), not to mention pitch a tent outside Austin’s Coppertank Events Center right now.

The South By show will cap a jam-packed week of activity on the music front for Justin, an artist who, only a few months ago, seemed to have all but abandoned his career as a singer.

Last weekend Timberlake both hosted and hit the stage as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. And amid his residence on Fallon all this week, his new album The 20/20 Experience (out March 19) began streaming in full on iTunes on Tuesday, while the “Suit & Tie” singer also found time to hit up BET’s 106 & Park.

Also, remember: if you do happen to hit up JT’s gig tomorrow night in Austin, be sure to tweet your photos out using our #IdolatorSXSW hashtag, and they’ll be added to the site!
