While it’s still unclear exactly what was going on the frenzied hours after Lil Wayne landed in the hospital after suffering apparent codeine-related seizures, the rapper’s condition has stabilized. After five days in the Intensive Care Unit at Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A., Weezy today (March 18) was released from the ICU and was walking and eating on his own, according to TMZ. However, as we learned again during this story, they’ve been wrong before.

The first reports of Lil Wayne’s hospitalization on March 15 included TMZ’s incorrect claims that he was in a medically induced coma and had been given his last rites. That was followed a couple hours later by a tweet from Wayne’s account saying he’s “good,” but then it turned out Wayne himself never sent that tweet.

What we do know is the hospitalization stemmed from Weezy’s second seizure in three days, and that his Young Money/Cash Money reps deny all reports that he was in a coma and was given “tubes to breathe.”
