Say what you will about the glassy-eyed toddler superstars of One Direction but they do know a thing or two about top-notch song selection — Ed Sheeran‘s cast-offs did pretty well for them, after all — and they’re working with some A+ collaborators on new material, too. Dougie Poynter, the bassist from McFly (a British boy band who were sort of like One DirectionBlink 182, in a way that’s significantly more amazing than that description suggests), told BBC that he spent some time in the studio with Niall Horan writing a song which he describe as a “stadium epic.”

“It hasn’t got a title at the moment but we wrote the song with Niall,” he said. “He’s got some good ideas so [he] had a lot of input.”

McFly’s lead singer, Tom Fletcher, wrote “Irresistible” and “I Would” from 1D’s last LP Take Me Home, but a “stadium epic” sounds pretty great, doesn’t it? What if it sounded like this:

That would be the best ever, right? Cross your fingers and hope for the best.
