Rapper and Spring Breakers co-star Gucci Mane turned himself in to police in Georgia last night (March 26) after allegedly striking a fan in the head with a champagne bottle at an Atlanta nightclub earlier in March. Gucci Mane was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon upon his booking at Fulton County Jail at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Over the weekend, Atlanta police issued a warrant for Gucci’s arrest after the alleged victim came forward with his story. James (he only released his first name to the media), a US military veteran, claimed he was out for his birthday at Harlem Nights on March 15 and asked a security guard if he could get a picture with Gucci Mane. At that point, the rapper allegedly hit James in the head, causing a wound which required 10 stitches.
MTV is reporting that a second man claims to have had a similar run-in with the rapper at a Philadelphia nightclub. The alleged victim, identified as TJ, says that Gucci punched him in the jaw in the early morning hours of March 18 at Club Onyx after a Gucci performance. Like the first alleged assault, TJ claims he was trying to meet the rapper and shake his hand.
