Passion Pit’s “Cry Like A Ghost” Video: Watch The Quirky, Complex Clip

2013 is shaping up to be a really good year for music videos! There was the wonderfully overblown “I Got a Boy” from Girls’ Generation, then New Kids on the Block dropped their fresh “Remix (I Like The)” clip. Now Passion Pit have entered the discussion with the video for “Cry Like a Ghost.”

It’s one of the most emotional songs from Gossamer (that heartbreaking singalong “Sylviaaaa” chorus), and it’s also one of the most manically fun tracks on the album. The video, then, fittingly balances hyperactivity with heartbreak, employing a rubber band narrative that goes from romantic rollercoasters to scenes of solo dancing in the dark. And it all feels like one impossibly long take. Check it out up top.

The video was directed by DANIELS (the duo behind previous clips from Foster the People and Chromeo), and if you liked what you saw, then head here to watch the extended cut.
