hanson get the girl back

Hanson are MMMBack (sorry), announcing today (April 1) their big plans for 2013: for the trio’s 21st anniversary, they’re releasing their ninth album, Anthem, on June 18 and they’ll hit the road for a world tour the following month. That’s not all: lead single “Get the Girl Back” is getting a music video starring Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) and Nikki Reed (Twilight), and it’ll premiere Thursday (!) on VH1.com. Based on the above single artwork and the fact that the video will feature “an old-school brass section,” it appears they are channeling Justin Timberlake‘s suit-and-tie shit. (Side note: anyone musician who wears a tuxedo this year will be compared to JT.)

This is almost too much to process — comeback videos from Jonas Brothers and the Hanson brothers in the same week?! April’s shaping up to be a good month. Read on to see the band’s tweet with the announcement as well as the list of dates for the first leg of the Anthem tour. Head to Hanson’s official site for ticket information.

Hi! Actually Hanson has been doing the brass/horns section thing since 2010 with their previous album “Shout it Out”

Here are their music videos for “Thinking Bout Somethin” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmG0DqhfDbY

    and “Give a Little”- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56VPiS8dPDE

which incorporates old-school vibe and a whole lotta horns!:)

Only problem is this isn’t a “comeback” video for Hanson. They haven’t gone anywhere and have been steadily producing and putting music out on the airwaves since 1997 and Mmmbop. And it isn’t fair to compare them to JT, though I understand it’s inevitable. This single’s been in the works since sometime in 2012 and they already had the photoshoot out of the way last year too, but what can we say? Suits are in. They had the “big band” piece in 2010 with “Shout It Out” so it isn’t something they’re jumping on the bandwagon with and they have a long history with those sounds being their inspiration as musicians. However, welcome all new Hanson fans that are going to surface with “Anthem” – it’s going to be a brilliant, rocking 2013.

Why is it people are now coming out of the woodwork about Hanson making it sound like they are back after 1997 when they never stopped making music??? So what, they are wearing tuxes? Usually Isaac is 99% of the time wearing a suit anyway, they all have their styles. They just wanted to do something different for the video-BIG DEAL!-and they look GREAT!!! We Hanson fans, know all their music for years, and they spectacular and amazing! It pisses me off when they are compared to JT…they are AMAZING musicians, they write their music (still), they play their own music-they play each others instruments, they raise “Tom” shoes for kids that dont have shoes, and thats just a start of what all they do…so with all that being said,,,I AM A HANSON FAN AND PROUD OF IT:D !!!!!!
