Update: Ray J has dropped the actual track — hear it after the jump.

Ray J has planned a return to music, albeit one that may rehash ancient tabloid history. “I Hit It First” is not out until April 9, but thanks to rumors of its lyrics and speculation over its cover art, the R&B singer (and Brandy‘s brother) has potential listeners recalling his relationship with Kim Kardashian, so a time before she got together with Kanye West.

Ray J’s lyrics are reportedly citing Kardashian’s dating history, before and after their sex tape surfaced in 2007. “She might move on to rappers and ballplayers / But we all know I hit it first / I had her head going North and her ass going South / But now baby chose to go West / No matter where she goes or who she knows / She still belongs in my bed,” he sings, according to TMZ.

The “I Hit It First” single artwork is likely a pixelated version of a paparazzi-provided Kardashian photo, while its overall styling recalls the censored version of West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album cover, as noted by Global Grind and MTV respectively. Neither Kardashian nor West have responded to Ray J’s news, although the song’s producer Nic Nac offered some perspective on Twitter.

Although Ray J planned to drop “I Hit It First” on April 9 via iTunes, the song has since leaked. Hear it below.
