Justin Bieber is now the face of SpendSmart, a prepaid debit card geared toward teenagers (and, of course, their parents). In a clip released Friday (above) he breaks down a few important lessons he’s learned about money, which he learned way before “All Around the World.” Case in point: “Whether you have $100 or $100 million, if you spend more than you have, you’re gonna be broke.”

The Believe superstar inked a 14-month contract for $3.75 million to become SpendSmart’s new brand ambassador, The New York Times reports. Bieber will soon send texts and emails, plus post more videos on his YouTube page, in which he shares more pro tips about responsible spending.

Once called BillMyParents, SpendSmart’s biggest selling point is that parents can monitor online spending and even block purchases via texts and a smartphone app. Watch Bieber’s first SpendSmart video up top.
