We’re not sure exactly what we expected from the video for Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding‘s big dance single “I Need Your Love,” but — given the offbeat aesthetic that’s unified Goulding’s Halcyon campaign — it certainly wasn’t this. The clip for the pair’s new single, and it’s so bright! And sunny! And commercial! And mainstream! And Calvin and Ellie are hooking up!
Yes, it’s a whole steamy, summery affair for the two, who are recording themselves as they gallivant through the streets (and bedrooms) of Miami: Lots of lingering footage of Goulding half-dressed lounging in a white bed, and lots of brazen making out on the street. (To the best of our knowledge, both of them are dating other people in real life, but hey, cool, what happens in Miami stays in Miami, or whatever.) Anyway, they both look good, so that’s probably what matters in a clip like this.
