Last week, Jay-Z released a scathing diss track directed at politicians who had questioned he and wife Beyonce’s anniversary trip to Cuba. Today, proud Cuban-American Pitbull released his own open letter in response — and not only is Pit’s track supportive of the couple, but it’s also something of a lesson in Cuban history! The rapper references the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Elian Gonzalez, also rapping about Cuban politics and relations between the United States and Cuba.

Pit also addresses race, asking “Question of the night/Would they have messed with Mr. Carter if he was white?” before saying “Happy fifth-year anniversary, Jay and B, don’t worry it’s on me.” Although it’s not like he needs it, we’re sure Hov is glad to know that someone’s got his back, especially someone who understands both cultures.
